Karen De Leon is this year’s new UGSRP Intern. She is in her 5th year of studies at the University of Guelph, majoring in Hotel and Food Administration. Over the course of her five years at UoG, she has been involved with many different organizations within the school. She has previously held an Executive position on the College of Business and Economics Students’ Association, and is currently a Peer Helper at Co-op and Career Services. In addition, she is the current Vice-President of the Hospitality, Food, and Tourism Management Student’s Association.
She has taken on this project with the hopes of sharing the social aspect of sustainability in restaurants and food service. Her passion lies between food and culture and she hopes to integrate that passion into this project. Karen’s interest include baking, eating, and napping. Upon graduating, she hopes to travel to the Maldives and Indonesia.
