The Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) is an organization that was created to raise the standards of professional post-secondary hospitality programs in Ontario Colleges and Universities. For the past 25 years the OHI has done this through raising money for student scholarships. Since its inception the OHI has raised over $2 million dollars for hospitality student scholarships in Ontario.

The OHI also contributes to the betterment of the hospitality industry through its yearly Gold Awards Gala. Each year at this event industry leaders are recognized for their achievements with awards and fellowships.

In 2006 the organization started a new award, The OHI’s Top 30 Under 30. This program was created to recognize outstanding young people currently employed in the Ontario Hospitality Industry. To date 270 young stars of the industry have been recognized for both their achievements and potential. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Top30 Under 30 and we at UGSRP think its important that we show our support for this program by asking you to nominate someone you know for this recognition.
Your nominee can be a restaurant or hotel manager, chef, supplier, anyone who you feel is ‘superstar’ at what they do and is making a positive contribution to the hospitality industry in Ontario. More details can be found at this link
