Elaine Li

Elaine has the privilege of being this year’s UGSRP intern. She’s in her 4th year of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Co-op program minoring in Arts, Culture and Heritage Management at the University of Guelph. She was introduced to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in her first year through AIESEC and has been inspired and passionate about sustainability ever since. She’s personally been impacted to go vegetarian from UGSRP’s 7th Annual Symposium and began working to reduce her carbon footprint in other ways. Since buying stainless steel straws she’s unintentionally influenced many of her friends to do the same and actually make an impact. She hope’s to inspire others to be more conscious of their habits, take action and support a sustainable future. She’s also a part of Guelph Women in Leadership as the Director of Events and the Peer Helper team for the Sustainability Office. When she’s not studying or working Elaine can be found reading romance novels, eating at some sort of dessert place or baking desserts, watching Netflix or wandering around art galleries. Elaine is looking forward to the exciting things to come!
