Kristen is a recent graduate of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program (April 2010) at the University of Guelph. After working in the hospitality industry throughout her university education, Kristen decided it was time to see the world and took off travelling through South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In 7 months, she visited 9 countries, experiencing a wide range of food and culture all with one backpack.
Upon her return to Guelph, Kristen accepted a management position with her previous employer, the Borealis Grillehouse and Pub. Borealis shares a similar philosophy to the University of Guelph Sustainable Restaurant Project, as one of their goals is to run a zero carbon footprint operation in the near future and recognizes the importance of sourcing food locally.
Kristen also shares this philosophy and care for the environment as well as enjoys visiting local farmer’s markets, riding her bike and is an avid soccer player and snowboarder.
