The first day of school is less than a week away and we are getting ourselves ready for the fall semester. I recently sat down with Simon and learned that there are some major changes happening to PJ’s this year. For one there will be no more renting of linen that is used in the restaurant. Instead linens are going to be purchased and washed in-house!! The school has purchased a washer and dryer that will be a perfect new addition to PJ’s. This also means no more paper napkins, even though Simon did purchase biodegradable ones, which will reduce day-to-day waste.
Being introduced this year will be a permanent menu with daily specials that the students will be responsible for. There will be a physical menu created and used everyday instead of the daily paper menus that got discarded at the end of day. By having this new menu it will reduce the waste and cost for PJ’s!
PJ’s also has recyclable take-out containers, instead of Styrofoam, that are only used upon request.
Great stuff happening at PJ’s for Fall and more to come!
