This past Thursday, May 31st, the third annual Canadian Restaurant Investment Summit (C.R.I.S.) was held at the Hilton Toronto Centre, in Toronto, Ontario. The University of Guelph became a Silver Sponsor of the event this year and we were therefore presented with the opportunity to attend the Summit.
Among the top CEO’s and executives from the most renowned restaurants, finance and development companies in Canada, UGSRP was right there to make its’ first appearance at the Summit. We had an exhibitor table to present the project to the industry and raise awareness for the research we are doing. After recently completing the research paper titled, The Tipping Point: Is there a fair share, we had copies available as a take-away for participants of the Summit.
Attending the Summit was an excellent opportunity to share our research and our philosophy with industry professionals and gain their perspective on sustainability and surrounding topics. Many delegates that we came across were excited that we were approaching research in a proactive way, addressing real issues that affect everyone in every industry. Many had never considered the social, economic and most importantly environmental impacts that certain business choices have on the industry and the world.
The Canadian Restaurant Investment Summit was another success for the growth and awareness of UGSRP!
